The suspect was described as a Male Hispanic between 18 – 20 years old. The suspect was struck by gunfire in the upper torso and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A short foot pursuit ensued and at the conclusion, the deputies contacted the suspect and a deputy involved shooting occurred. The suspect looked toward the deputies and produced a firearm then proceeded to run south bound between two businesses. Homicide Investigators have learned that deputies from the Compton Sheriff’s Station observed the suspect in the area of the location. at the 400 Block of Redondo Beach Blvd, in the unincorporated Gardena area.
