We offer a combination of a killer workout, mindfulness, high energy and a true sense of community for students of all levels. So, as you know, we’re impressed with CorePower Yoga – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.ĬorePower Yoga is an intensely physical workout rooted in the mindfulness of yoga. I said yes to the opportunity, and my life shifted to reveal that I was exactly where I needed to be. I was offered a CPY leadership position at the same time I had entered a crossroads in my life, and I had no idea what my future held. I count on them just as much as they count on me. My CPY students have become my most important teachers. I have learned that a room filled with yogis looking to you to lead them through a class is exactly what you need when you are feeling less than whole. There were some struggles in my personal life that made the idea of walking into a studio, holding space, incredibly challenging. Moving across the country and not knowing anyone can be daunting, but CorePower Yoga was a welcoming place to land. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you? We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. CPY has transformed who I am as a leader and a yogi. I was offered an opportunity with CPY to move to California and I immersed myself within the San Diego CorePower community. Eventually, the 2 classes I taught a week turned into 7, and I left my stressful production job completely. I started taking Yoga Sculpt at the studio closest to me and then jumped into the Teacher Training program. Years later while I was living in Chicago, I had a very stressful job and yoga started showing back up in my life through CorePower. Yoga was like nothing I had ever done before. Yoga hadn’t quite caught on at my University gym and I bought a DVD of a Vinyasa class taught to house music – I instantly fell in love. I started doing yoga while I was finishing college in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
